A Spooky Story

 Hello readers! 

    If you follow me on twitter (@tamingtheriver) you might have noticed from previous tweets that I’m a bit of a scaredy cat when it comes to watching horror movies. You don’t even need to show me the monster on the screen, just hint to me that it’s coming, and I’m GONE. Behind the couch, down the hall, or in the fridge looking for comfort food. Needless to say, frightening films are being shown in abundance this spooky season of October, and I needed a bit of a break. My imagination is powerful enough to keep me up at night listening for every creak in the shifting walls and picturing a spirit of some kind seeping through them. 

    All this to say, with all this inspiration creeping around in my head, I decided to try my hand at a paranormal short story. I’m not a true horror fan so unfortunately I wasn’t able to create something in the pure form of the genre. Instead I had to go and mix it with a smattering of romance and now I have a weird hybrid baby. A paranormal romance. 

    So! If you’re the type to enjoy Phantom of the Opera, or any other spooky tail with a hint of a love affair in the mix, I have just the short story for you :)
